When you have obtained the results of your internet bandwidth test, you will therefore obtain the speed measurement, but also another result called ping or latency. This result is obtained in milliseconds and corresponds to the transmission time of the data from its source to your computer via the web network. For a high performance network, the goal is to achieve a low latency result. Indeed, the longer the ping or latency time, the longer the response time or the transmission of your data. A good speedtest will therefore give you a very low result in milliseconds for your latency time. A basic ADSL internet connection will allow you to get a ping between 30 and 80 ms. Beyond 100 ms, the quality of your internet connection becomes poor, you will have to consider a quick correction or a change of operator. Beyond 300 ms, the results obtained are therefore very bad, you hardly benefit from internet speed.
