An electric novelty for the brand
This model is the first 100% electric made by the brand. Previously, Ford produced versions with thermal or sometimes hybrid engines. But Ford’s Mustang Mach-E will be the first electric vehicle with a autonomy which will satisfy a large majority of motorists.
A model soon on the market
All-new all-electric Mustang Mach-E to arrive in Europe early 2021. For now, the first deliveries to customers who have reserved their copy should be made by Q1 2021. The birth of this new line promises its consumers to accelerate the sensations of driving without emissions, adapted to the mobility of tomorrow.
Ford Mustang Mach-E technical data
The vehicle costs between $ 50,495 to $ 82,995. For example, a Premium version with all-wheel drive and long-range battery is worth $ 65,745. It’s a car five seater with a chest of depth of 840 liters (with the backs raised). It weighs almost 2200 kilograms, but has frank accelerations (electric requires). As for electricity consumption, it turned out to be 23 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers.
Regarding the power: the propulsion is 198 kW (equivalent to 266 hp); 580 Nm (equivalent to 428 lb-ft). The all-wheel drive is 258 kW (equivalent to 346 hp); 580 Nm (equivalent to 428 lb-ft). As to batteries : 68 kWh (standard autonomy); 88 kWh (high autonomy).
The car has an interior unique in it’s genre. The arrangement of the door handle to enter the vehicle is striking because of its particularity: you have to press a button which unlocks the door, the small handle is only used to pull the door.
Inside, Ford attempted to minimize pimples, but not as much as Tesla in its Model Y. Most of the controls are done by the large central screen in the center of the dashboard with fabric accents on top.
The quality of finishes is clear, no complaints on that side. Also, the driving position of this model is lower than an SUV, which gives the impression of driving a bigger car.
Finally, with an average consumption of 23 kWh per 100 km, the 88 kWh battery would give a range of 382 kilometers.
Ford’s Mustang Mach-E lets you drive with a single pedal, thus limiting the use of the brakes, as can be done with a last generation Nissan Leaf. An interesting option, which can be turned off. Just like the sound produced by the car: in Unbridled mode, a synthesized engine sound get along when accelerating. It can be “off” for appreciate the silence of electric driving.
Apple Carplay integration is one of the most impressive, you do not need to plug in your laptop for the connection to be made and all services are brilliantly integrated into this central screen, although we truly regret the lack of integration of Waze or Google Maps on driver screen. We don’t know where the concern is coming from, but it would be good for consumers to get the job done.
